Hello, I am Alice Beese. I am a professional holistic massage therapist based in the Clifton - Stoke Bishop area of Bristol. I offer massage every Monday evening. For each massage I give, I give another, for free, to those in need. My chosen charity for Autumn - Winter 2019 is the South West Children’s Hospice. Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you here soon.
What is Holistic Massage?
Holistic means whole. Holistic massage is about the interconnected systems of the body - it’s about your physical being, but also acknowledges the value in restoring a peaceful mind and soul. It’s about all round well-being, being well in every sense.
Relax, restore and reconnect.
Switch off and tune in.
Bring your awareness inside your body instead of looking out.
About your massage
By listening to your needs and using a variety of holistic massage techniques, I hope to support you to tune into your body, connect with how it feels. Holistic Massage has many benefits, it can help with physically and mentally resetting the mind and body, improve sleep, ease anxiety or depression, improve circulation and release areas of tension that can cause aches and stiffness.
When you arrive we will have a 10-15 minute chat about how you are doing and what you would like out of your session. You can ask me any questions and let me know if there’s anything I need to be aware of, so that I can give you the best possible massage. Your massage and conversation with me is of course kept private and confidential.
I practice from my peaceful home on the Downs (BS9), I have a spare room especially designed for massage practice. This is a quiet neighbourhood with free street parking and there is a secure place to leave your bike during your session.
Massage for you, and I gift another free.
Book a massage with me and I’ll give a free massage to someone else who might not normally have the opportunity.
The idea of holistic and interconnected systems goes beyond massage - I take this concept into the whole community of Bristol. I am currently working with the South West Children’s Hospice gifting a minimum of four massages a month to parents who care for their a terminally ill child who have either passed away or expected to before the age of 21. Other groups I am looking to work with in 2020 - 2021 include refugee centres, retirement homes and women’s groups. By the end of the year my hope is to have gifted more than 200 free massages.
“Alice has magic hands! I have a sore neck and back from feeding and carrying a newborn baby. She managed to release the tension and gave me a much needed hour of calm. I look forward to my next one” LB
“Alice is a wonderful practitioner. Sensitive, open-hearted, skilful and humble. She has lovely energy, and is highly responsive to requests for different levels of pressure. “I have previously tended to see a sports therapist about individual injuries, but Alice takes a keen interest in you as a person to address holistic needs. She is passionate about her field, with an enviable generous work ethic and I highly recommend her.” JK
“I had a fantastic massage with Alice. I thought the massage was really therapeutic and Alice has an Intuitive sense of where to work. I felt really relaxed and would definitely book again.” CW
“Such a great massage and a lovely person! Alice is clearly very knowledgeable and really makes you feel relaxed. She was very friendly and warm (her hands too!) and gave a really good consultation beforehand. Helped me with my sore back. Highly recommended!!” BJ
Who is Alice?
Nothing lights me up more than helping other people and being a trained massage therapist is a wonderful way for me to do that. It had been a long-time dream of mine to know how to give high quality professional massage. In 2017 I signed up for the Introduction to Holistic Massage and absolutely loved it. Fast forward though a year of study to the end of 2018 and I’m proudly qualified with my Level 4 Holistic Massage Diploma. I still work full time for a Bristol based non-profit working on ocean plastic pollution, which is why I’m currently just offering one massage a week, on Monday evenings. In the future I may offer other time slots, on different days.
Qualification: Level 4 Holistic Massage, Anatomy and Physiology Diploma from the Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork (BCMB) inc First Aid at Work.
Registered: with the Massage Training Institute.
Experience: As a student, I practiced over 100 hours (60 over the course requirement) with a range of clients. I have massaged Ultramarathoners and professional triathletes, people with anxiety and chronic stress, clients who have RSI (from tennis / guitar), IBS, Myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), Gilberts Syndrome, Varicose Veins and thin skin. These massages have taken place in their home, my home, at the massage college, in other therapy rooms, spas and at festivals. My range of experience for a newly graduated student is vast and I will be continuing my professional development throughout my practice.
